Business Valuation Reports can be prepared under different formats and still comply with the Professional Standards with which our Appraisers must comply. Different report forms have different permitted uses, each of which can be explained by your valuation professional.

The minimum amount of information required by each form of report is stipulated by the Professional Standards of The Institute of Business Appraisers. (We will be glad to provide you with the minimum information content for each type of report.)

Formal Written Appraisal Report
“A comprehensive business appraisal report. This report is sometimes referred to as the long form, narrative or comprehensive report.”

Letter Form Written Appraisal Report
“The letter report presents conclusions together with brief generalized comments.”

Restricted Use Report
“As implied by the nomenclature the use of this report is very restricted. The Opinion of Value produced by this form of report can only be ordered by and used by the Business Owner.”

Preliminary Report
“A brief oral or written report reflecting the Appraiser's limited opinion.”

Oral Appraisal Report
“As the name implies, this report is delivered orally. This report is similar in nature and scope to the Preliminary Report.”

Expert Testimony
“An oral report given in the form of testimony in a deposition and/or on the witness stand before a court of proper jurisdiction or other trier of fact.”
